本刊是月刊是经国家新闻出版署批准，由交通部主管中交水运规划设计院主办，面向全国水运工程行业，在国内外公开发行的科技刊物，本刊及时报道国家在水运工程行业方面的方针、政策；重点报道港口、航道与航电枢纽、桥梁、修造船厂、市政建设等勘察、设计、科研、施工、水运经济及管理方面的新技术、新材料、新工艺新方法及技术发行方面的成果和主要经验教训，贯彻“双百”和科学技术为经济建设服务的方针、开展学术和信息交流；介绍国内外水运建设方面的先进技术及水平动向。
Port & Waterway Engineering (Monthly), a scientific & technological periodical of port & waterway engineering trade distributed publicly both in China and abroad, is approved by the Press and Publication Administration of PRC, administrated by the Ministry of Communications (MOC) of PRC and sponsored by China Communications Planning and Design Institute for Water Transportation.
Port & Waterway Engineering (Monthly) aims at reporting timely the state policies concerning port & waterway construction; reporting mainly the investigation, planning, design, scientific research, construction and supervision; application of new technology, new materials and new methods; as well as achievements, experience and lessons of technical innovation in the fields of port, waterway, navigation power junction, bridge culvert, and ship building & repairing yard, etc.; promoting academic and informational exchanges; introducing the advanced technology and state of development of water transportation construction of both China and other countries. It is a scientific & technological monthly of greater issuing amount and broader range of influence in the port & waterway engineering trade of China.
